Average base cost for a Barn at Flanagan Farm wedding is calculated by figuring a 125-person guest list for a ceremony and reception during a weekend (Friday-Sunday) in June using $100/pp for food/beverage. Entertainment, flowers, additional decorations and rentals, DJ, wedding coordinator, and photography are not included. Price is rounded up to the nearest thousand. Gratuity and tax is included.

Facility Rental Fee: The venue fees for The Barn at Flanagan Farm break down as follows:
May – October
- For the weekend (Friday – Sunday): $13,500
- Wednesday to Sunday (adding an additional two nights): $14,500.
November – April
- For the weekend (Friday – Sunday): $12,500
- Wednesday – Sunday (adding an additional two nights): $13,500
What’s Included: The rate for your stay on this private estate includes a daily housecleaner and three parking attendants, a property manager and wedding-style outdoor restrooms on the day of your event. Three six-foot farm tables made out of reclaimed barn wood are also available for use.
Food/Beverage: For food, you are allowed to bring in your own caterer. For alcohol you must obtain host liquor liability insurance (which can be done online) if it is not offered through your caterer.
Space Type: Inside/Outside
Size: The barn (which has a heating and cooling system) accommodates 200 guests for a standing reception, 175 guests seated and served, or 150 guests seated and served keeping the center aisle open for dancing. There is also a stone patio for your cocktail hour. The private woodland sanctuary nearby can accommodate up to 200 guests and is available to use for your ceremony. NOTE: Starting in June of 2015, they will have finished construction on an English style barn built to accommodate a seated dinner for 50 or standing reception for over 100. This new barn could work as a potential rehearsal dinner, cocktail reception or dance barn. In addition there will be two bathrooms located adjacent to the new barn for your guests.
Bridal Suite: This would be your room in The Farmhouse
How Will Grandma Get There? Located twenty minutes south of Portland in Buxton, Maine, ideally Grandma would stay in The Farmhouse accommodations. The house comfortably sleeps ten guests plus two additional in the groom’s cottage, which has its own bathroom. Guests not staying on property would most likely want to stay in Portland at hotels such as The Residence Inn Portland.
Party On! As per town rules, music must stop at 10:30 p.m. and guests must depart the property by 11:00 p.m.
Previously owned by Gwendolyn Flanagan (1916-2008), the sixty-six acre farmstead was purchased in 2011 by Gail Landry, who granted a conservation easement on the land to Maine Farmland Trust, committing to keeping the property a Forever Farm. The Barn was originally built in the late nineteenth century and restored in 2012 with three stories and 2,400 square feet of entertaining space. The Farmhouse features overnight accommodations in a 2,400 square foot farmhouse, designed by Brooklyn-based interior designers David Nastasi and Katherine Vail of Nastasi Vail Design. The Farmhouse also features a chef’s kitchen, where The Barn at Flanagan Farm’s Chef Debrah Rodriguez Gaspardi can prepare private meals for guests staying on-site.

I love the idea of a weekend retreat at this Maine wedding venue, especially considering the fact that you can bring in your own vendors AND it’s in close proximity to Portland for out-of-town guests who might be flying in. The interior design of The Farmhouse is perfect (comfortable yet chic) and The Barn is updated while still maintaining a rustic feel. If you’re having a larger wedding it might be tough deciding just who gets to stay on site, but I would definitely consider hiring a shuttle for those guests not staying at The Farm.
